Clinical Faculty Position

This clinical faculty position will provide expert clinical care to patients, participate in translational and/or clinical research and participate in the teaching and training of fellows, residents and students.

Essential duties include:

• Clinical 55%: Practice clinical medicine, develop and maintain a clinical practice, provide peer review, participate in quality improvement projects.
• Administrative and Service 7%: Participate in investigation and review of best practice initiatives, serve on institutional and hospital committees, represent the department at meetings.
• Research 30%: Engage in clinical and translational research, develop research programs, identify grants and funding sources.
• Education/Teaching 8%: Act as a role model, provide educational programs, supervise trainees.
• Service: Participate in external or extramural service, edit and review presentations for scientific meetings.

This position has a target base salary of $287,044 to $367,301 and is eligible for incentive compensation, comprehensive health, wellness, time off, savings, and retirement benefits, as well as relocation support, as applicable.

Requirements:

Education: Doctorate-level degree in a field appropriate to faculty role and department mission, licensed to practice in the State of Texas, board certified.

Experience: At least two (2) years as Instructor or (5) years post clinical degree with any combination of time as a: clinician, clinical scientist or GME trainee (except specialties with shorter residencies or fellowships). Appropriate post medical doctoral training per discipline.

Licensure/Certification: Licensed to practice in State of Texas, board certified.
