Job Summary Obtains accurate demographic, financial and clinical information and enters into the computer system to create the medical and financial record. Applies financial guidelines to determine/collect patient liability. Performs physician requested lab work and EKGs, industry pre-employment drug screens. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsibilities Accurately follows physician's orders when ordering diagnostic tests, such as lab work and EKGs, and performs those tests which are part of the multi-skilled position. Registers patients accurately, efficiently and professionally to ensure database integrity and facilitate claims processing. Participates in providing safe, cost-effective patient care in a timely manner to achieve positive patient outcomes. Applies financial screening guidelines to ensure proper procedures are followed in obtaining upfront collections for the specific facility. Strives to expedite patient flow through prompt and courteous service. Participates in performance improvement activities (PI) by identifying areas of opportunity to ensure quality is consistent with established guidelines. Provides a safe, functional, and effective environment for patients, staff, and other individuals in the hospital, thus promoting quality patient care and achieving good outcomes. Performs other duties as assigned, to include health screening. Completes assigned goals. Experience Admission and insurance experience. Phlebotomy certification or one year of phlebotomy experience. Education Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency. Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties. Special Skills Computer literacy. #J-18808-Ljbffr
