Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM-2:30 PM
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay: $25-30/per hour (based on experience)

Position Overview


Our client, a growing medical manufacturing company in St. Charles, Illinois, is seeking a detail-oriented Production Operations Coordinator to provide administrative and operational support for its manufacturing team.

Working closely with the Production Supervisor, this role is responsible for coordinating production documentation, inventory, purchasing, customer orders, shipping and receiving, and daily production support activities. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a manufacturing environment, is highly organized, and excels at keeping operations running smoothly behind the scenes.

While this position is primarily administrative, the successful candidate will also provide hands-on support to the production team when needed to help meet customer deadlines, cover employee absences, or assist during peak production periods.

Key Responsibilities

Production Administration

• Support the Production Supervisor with daily production planning and coordination.
• Process customer orders and perform accurate order entry.
• Maintain production schedules and ensure work orders are completed on time.
• Create and maintain product labels using the Essity system.
• Update and maintain production documentation and manufacturing records.
• Prepare reports and assist with operational tracking and production metrics.

Inventory & Purchasing

• Maintain inventory records and complete monthly inventory updates in Essity.
• Coordinate purchasing activities for production materials and supplies.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs.
• Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives.

Shipping & Receiving

• Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Maintain shipping documentation and ensure accurate receiving records.
• Work closely with vendors and internal departments to ensure timely deliveries.

Production Support

• Serve as a backup resource on the production floor when production demands require additional assistance.
• Assist with packaging, labeling, order fulfillment, or other production tasks as needed.
• Help troubleshoot workflow issues and communicate production concerns to the Production Supervisor.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, production coordination, or operations support role.
• Experience in medical manufacturing or regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
• Experience with inventory management, purchasing, shipping and receiving.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems, including Essity and XGR , is highly preferred.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Team-oriented with a willingness to step into production and support operations whenever needed.
