About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a high acuity hospital, strong Pediatric ICU experience and at least 1 year of Cardiovascular experience required. License: RN license required Certifications: AHA BLS and PALS required Must-Have: Strong Pediatric ICU experience At least 1 year of CV experience Epic experience required Telemetry test pass required prior to starting Description: The position involves monitoring and caring for critically ill or injured children and their families. You will provide comprehensive care for patients with a variety of medical and surgical issues. Conditions treated may include acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, and multi-system organ failure. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver family-centered care. The unit features advanced technologies and support services for the management of complex cases. Previous charge experience is preferred, along with experience in high acuity settings. You will be responsible for tasks including hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and administering medications. Care deliveries are aligned with best practices to enhance patient outcomes and family satisfaction. Support is provided from various interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. The role may involve floating to different units as needed. A thorough understanding of pediatric cardiac care practices is essential for this position.
