Role Description The Unit Secretary is a part-time, on-site role located in Daly City, CA, supporting the daily operations of a clinical unit. This position is responsible for performing clerical and receptionist duties, including answering phones, greeting and directing visitors, and managing patient and unit-related communications. The Unit Secretary will maintain and organize patient charts, process orders and paperwork, schedule appointments, and coordinate information flow between clinical staff, patients, and families. The role involves working closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely communication, accurate documentation, and efficient unit workflow. The Unit Secretary provides customer service to patients and families, responds to routine inquiries, and helps maintain a safe and orderly environment. Qualifications Strong clerical skills, including filing, data entry, record keeping, and basic office procedures. Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary clinical teams. Experience with company secretarial or unit coordination work, including handling confidential information and documentation. Background in executive administrative assistance or similar roles, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple requests. Customer service skills, with a focus on empathy, professionalism, and maintaining a welcoming environment. Proficiency with office technology and electronic health record or scheduling systems (or willingness to learn). Ability to work on-site, adapt to a fast-paced clinical setting, and follow hospital policies and procedures.
