More information about the company is available at Role Description Valley Pacific is seeking a dependable Fleet Mechanic to help maintain and repair our fleet of delivery trucks. This position will assist with preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to help keep our vehicles operating safely and efficiently. The Fleet Mechanic will also help maintain accurate service records, track repairs, and ensure Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) are properly documented and addressed. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-minded, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills are essential. Key Responsibilities This person will also assist in tracking all maintenance records and DVIRS. The successful candidate will have excellent communication (listening), negotiation, and relationship-building skills. VPPS is looking for someone who has excellent interpersonal skills, is self- motivated, highly organized, and able to resolve problems Must maintain a clean and organized shop environment. Required Skills/Experience Must have thorough knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of a Class A diesel fleet mechanic. Knowledge of air brakes and related plumbing Proficient in the diagnosis of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and AC systems Knowledge of the mechanical requirements of the DOT/FMCSA/CHP for a HAZMAT fleet, performing intrastate commerce Tanker fabrication and aluminum repair experience a plus Preventative maintenance background CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements a plus, but not required Compensation and Benefits Pay range from $33 - $38 per hour, depending on experience Paid Time Off Plus, more!
