Director of Finance

LHH is partnering with a growing mid-market, product-based organization seeking a Director of Finance to join its finance leadership team. This highly visible role offers a unique opportunity to lead core FP&A activities while partnering closely with executive leadership, commercial teams, and operations. The position combines corporate financial planning, executive and board reporting, and business-facing finance support, providing broad exposure across the organization and a meaningful opportunity to influence decision making and business performance. Key Responsibilities Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes Develop executive and board-level reporting, analysis, and presentations Partner with sales, operations, and business leaders to drive growth and profitability initiatives Deliver actionable insights on financial and operational performance Support strategic decision making through financial modeling and business analysis Provide support on treasury activities, cash flow planning, and strategic initiatives including M&A evaluation and integration efforts Lead and develop a small finance team while driving process improvements and business partnership Qualifications Must be located in the Chicago area or able to reliably commute to the office on a hybrid schedule 7+ years of progressive finance, FP&A, or related experience Experience within a manufacturing, distribution, or other product-based business environment required Demonstrated career progression and increasing levels of responsibility Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and analytical capabilities Experience partnering cross functionally with sales, operations, supply chain, and business leadership teams Strong communication skills with the ability to present insights to senior leadership audiences Prior experience supporting executive and board-level reporting preferred Why This Opportunity?
