Accountant/Bookkeeper

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized accounting and bookkeeping professional to support financial operations within a healthcare environment. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting day-to-day bookkeeping activities, and helping ensure compliance with applicable accounting practices and internal procedures. The ideal candidate is dependable, analytical, and comfortable working with confidential information in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely financial records for routine accounting and bookkeeping activities.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoice entry, payment tracking, and reconciliation.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts on a regular basis.
• Prepare journal entries, account summaries, and support schedules as needed.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Monitor cash flow, outstanding balances, and aging reports to support financial visibility.
• Support payroll-related recordkeeping and coordination as appropriate.
• Work with internal teams to resolve billing, payment, and coding discrepancies.
• Maintain organized files and documentation in support of audits and compliance requirements.
• Help prepare financial reports and other administrative accounting documents.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related financial role is required.
• Background in healthcare, medical office, or similar service-based environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Attributes

• Familiarity with healthcare billing, insurance payments, or patient account processes.
• Experience supporting audits, compliance reviews, or financial reporting.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
