Travel Accountant (ACCOUNTING OFFICER (SPECIALIST)) Salary: $5,266.00 – $6,591.00 per month. Job Summary California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) Financial Reporting and Accounting Services Division seeks an Accounting Officer to provide professional accounting duties to support the Travel Unit. Key Responsibilities Processing and reimbursing administrative revolving‑fund account advances and payments. Payment, recording, reporting, and reconciliation of travel, training, salary, and miscellaneous expenses, accounts receivable, and payroll. Audit relocation and travel expense claims and other requests for reimbursement from employees, board members, and retirees. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, including travel expense claims or revolving‑fund transactions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PeopleSoft Financials preferred. Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, and excellent customer service skills. Desired Qualifications Experience processing payroll, administrative revolving‑fund requests, travel expense claims, reimbursement claim schedules, accounts receivable, or accounts payable. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials software. Governmental accounting experience. Working Conditions Office‑centered; primarily onsite at Sacramento headquarters at least three weekdays. Must work in a low‑wall, cubicle environment with bright natural and fluorescent light. Telework Information This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days remote and three or more onsite per week.
