Essential Functions:

Replaces, balances, and repairs tires
Lubricates vehicle parts and changes motor oil and filters
Checks and replenishes fluids and performs minor repairs

Examples of Duties


Examples of Work:

UNDER CLOSE SUPERVISION
Repairs, balances, mounts and installs tires
Cleans shop and garage areas, and maintains tools and equipment
Operates vehicles and makes service runs
Lubricates vehicle parts, drains and changes motor oil, and removes and replaces oil filters
Checks and replaces worn or damaged air filters, windshield wiper blades, and burned-out vehicle light bulbs
Checks fluid levels and replenishes vehicle fluids
Washes vehicles and climbs on vehicles to replace equipment
Records completed repair and maintenance work
Fills vehicle fuel tanks
Performs related work

Minimum Requirements
Physical Requirement & Working Conditions:

Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
Spends prolonged periods of time sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping and climbing
Lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds in a team setting

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or the equivalent
Six months of changing oil and lubricating vehicles, OR Six months of installing new tires or repairing leaks in automotive, light truck, and heavy equipment tires
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
Other Minimums:

Must wear safety equipment as mandated by OSHA
Must submit to and pass pre-employment and random alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the Department of Transportation
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Must be on 24 hour call
Must work a varied schedule

Special Requirements:

Must possess and maintain a valaid Class A Commerical Driver's License (CDL) or obtain within six months of employment
