Medical Assistant Full TimeThe Medical Assistant Full Time role is an integral part of our Medical Assistant department, providing direct support to providers and compassionate care to patients in a fast-paced clinical setting. In this hourly, full-time position, you will perform a blend of clinical and administrative duties to ensure that patient visits are efficient, safe, and professional. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other care team members to assist with examinations, procedures, and documentation, while helping maintain an organized and patient-centered environment.What You'll DoPrepare patients for examinations by verifying identity, obtaining and documenting vital signs, height, weight, medical history, and chief complaintsAssist providers with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures while adhering to clinical protocols and infection control standardsPerform basic clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection and handling, in accordance with training and regulationsAccurately document patient information, medications, allergies, and services provided in the electronic health record (EHR)Schedule patient appointments, coordinate follow-up visits, and assist with prior authorizations and referrals as directedMaintain exam rooms and clinical areas, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and prepared with necessary supplies and equipmentProvide patient education and instructions as directed by providers, reinforcing treatment plans, medication instructions, and follow-up careHandle patient phone calls and messages, relaying information to providers and responding to patient inquiries within defined guidelinesFollow all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards, including proper handling of biohazard materials and sharps disposalSupport front-desk and administrative workflows as needed, including check-in, check-out, and collection of co-pays or required documentationParticipate in team meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinic operationsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED) requiredCompletion of an accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferredCurrent Medical Assistant certification or registration (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA) preferred or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe per employer policyCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification, or ability to obtain prior to start datePrevious experience as a medical assistant or in a clinical healthcare setting preferredProficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer applications (e.g., email, scheduling, data entry)Knowledge of basic medical terminology, vital signs, and standard clinical proceduresStrong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team membersDemonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work in a fast-paced environmentCommitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with HIPAA and all relevant regulationsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and lift or move patients and equipment as required for clinical dutiesAs a physician-founded and led organization, ensuring everyone has access to quality healthcare is what inspires us.
