We are currently seeking skilled Shipwright for potential projects in Norfolk, VA. This opportunity involves hands‑on labor working at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, offering a dynamic and fast‑paced environment for experienced professionals. Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. Employment will begin only if and when the company secures the government contract associated with this role. Overview Build staging and apply shrink-wrap for shipyard preservation and access. Responsibilities Erect and dismantle staging and temporary structures. Install shrink-wrap coverings for shipboard protection. Follow safety standards for fall protection and scaffolding. Support shipyard preservation projects. Qualifications Active DoD Secret clearance required. 4+ years in shipwright, carpentry, or staging work. 2+ years experience on U.S. Navy surface ship or submarine platforms. Knowledge of scaffolding and shrink-wrap systems. Ability to work at high heights. Ability to work 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift.
