Content and Social Media Manager

Our headquarters are located slopeside at the base of the world‑famous Steamboat Ski Resort in beautiful Steamboat Springs, Colorado. This role can be remote for the right candidate, but we’d love to find someone excited to be part of our Steamboat team. This is a unique opportunity to own our content strategy, grow our social presence, experiment with AI, build community, and create new revenue opportunities through sponsored content. What You’ll Do Own Active Junky’s editorial calendar and content roadmap. Create seasonal buying guides, gear guides, gift guides, and retail event campaigns. Identify content opportunities that drive organic growth and advertiser partnerships. Build scalable content processes. Video & Creator Content Plan, film, and publish short‑form videos for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms. Identify trending products, deals, and stories worth covering. Collaborate with creators, athletes, and internal team members. Use AI tools to increase content production and creativity. Social Media & Community Build Active Junky’s presence across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, and emerging platforms. Develop a consistent posting schedule. Engage with our audience and build an active community. Identify opportunities within Facebook Groups, Reddit, creator communities, and sports organizations. Sponsored Content Write sponsored articles and promotional campaigns. Coordinate deadlines with internal teams and brand partners. Develop new sponsored content opportunities that generate incremental revenue. Email Marketing Create and schedule promotional and editorial campaigns. Assist with audience segmentation and campaign planning. Monitor and optimize campaign performance. Website & SEO Publish and optimize content in our CMS. Follow SEO best practices. Refresh evergreen content and promotional pages. Analytics & Growth Track performance across content, email, website, and social channels. Provide monthly reporting and recommendations. Continuously test new ideas to increase customer acquisition and engagement. What We’re Looking For Requirements 2–5 years of experience in content marketing, social media, journalism, digital media, or a related field. Experience creating high‑performing content and social media campaigns. Exceptional writing and editing skills. Experience creating content for websites, email, social media, and video. Comfortable appearing on camera is a plus. Experience with Mailchimp or a similar email platform. Strong organizational and project management skills. Self‑starter who enjoys building programs from the ground up. Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Canva AI, or similar. Bonus Points SEO and GA4 experience. Canva, Adobe Express, or light graphic design skills. Affiliate marketing or e‑commerce experience. Outdoor, sports, fitness, travel, or retail industry experience. Experience growing a personal or company social audience. How Success Will Be Measured KPIs Growth in organic website traffic. Growth in social audience and engagement. Video performance and reach.
