Freezer Shipping Supervisor | Grocery Distribution

Salary: $47,500 to $52,500 per year

Epic Personnel Partners is hiring an experienced Freezer Shipping Supervisor for a high-volume grocery distribution facility in Bloomfield, Connecticut.
This hands-on leadership position oversees daily freezer shipping operations, including order accuracy, pallet staging, trailer loading, employee performance, safety, and on-time shipments. Candidates must be comfortable supervising employees and working regularly in a below-freezing warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily freezer shipping and outbound warehouse operations
- Lead, train, coach, and provide direction to shipping employees
- Coordinate order selection, pallet staging, loading, and shipment completion
- Ensure outgoing orders are accurate, properly labeled, and shipped on time
- Monitor employee productivity, attendance, quality, and safety performance
- Assign daily work based on staffing levels and shipping priorities
- Maintain temperature control and frozen-product handling standards
- Inspect pallets and trailers for accuracy, damage, and proper loading
- Resolve shipping delays, product discrepancies, and operational issues
- Communicate with transportation, inventory control, receiving, and management
- Enforce food safety, warehouse safety, and company procedures
- Complete shift reports and maintain accurate shipping documentation
- Help reduce product damage, loading errors, overtime, and operational downtime
Qualifications
- Previous shipping, warehouse, distribution, logistics, or grocery operations experience
- Supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred
- Freezer warehouse or cold-storage experience is highly preferred
- Knowledge of outbound shipping, order selection, pallet staging, and trailer loading
- Comfortable working for extended periods in below-freezing temperatures
- Ability to wear required freezer clothing and personal protective equipment
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Experience using warehouse management systems, scanners, or shipping software is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Flexible availability, including overtime and weekends when required
Compensation
$47,500 to $52,500 per year , based on experience and qualifications.
