Patient Service RepresentativeLocation: West Chester, PA Organization: Premier Orthopaedics, in partnership with Philadelphia Hand to ShoulderPremier Orthopaedics, in partnership with Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Patient Service Representative to join our team at our West Chester office. As two of the region's most respected providers of orthopedic and upper extremity care, we offer a collaborative, patient-focused environment that prioritizes clinical excellence, innovation, and ongoing professional development.The Patient Service Representative is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service to patients and visitors by performing a variety of front-office and administrative tasks. This position involves greeting patients, managing check-in/check-out, verifying insurance, scheduling appointments, and collecting payments, while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in all patient interactions. This is a full time on-site Monday-Friday position.Key ResponsibilitiesGreet and acknowledge patients promptly; notify MAs and Providers of their arrivalAnswer incoming calls accurately and relay messages as neededAssist patients in completing medical history and other required formsCollect demographic and insurance information, financial consent forms, and required authorizations/referralsCollect co-payments, co-insurances, and past-due balances; explain financial responsibilities to patientsComplete insurance and benefits verifications and notify relevant parties of coverage issuesSchedule follow-up appointments and coordinate authorizations or referralsScan patient information and maintain accurate EMR documentationPrepare charts for the following day according to the practice scheduleMaintain a secure and accurate cash drawer, including daily balancingUphold patient confidentiality and HIPAA complianceMaintain an organized and professional front office workspaceFollow established front office SOPs and site-specific protocolsPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsEducation:High school diploma, GED, or equivalent working knowledge preferredLicenses & Certifications:None requiredExperience:Minimum of 1–2 years of patient registration or front office experience in a medical or healthcare setting preferredExperience with insurance rules and regulations, medical terminology, and EMR systems highly preferred (Allscripts Pro Suite a plus)Experience collecting payments and explaining financial responsibilities to patients preferredKnowledge of HIPAA guidelines and office safety protocolsAbility to communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and the public, and establish positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholdersCompensation & BenefitsComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision plans100% employer-paid life insurance401(k) with employer matchBenefits begin the first of the month following hire date (for full-time employees)Generous paid sick and vacation time7 paid holidays annuallyOpportunities for growth and advancementEmployee referral reward programAbout Premier Orthopaedics & Philadelphia Hand to ShoulderPremier Orthopaedics and Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center (PHSC) are leading providers of comprehensive musculoskeletal care throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
