Pipefitter

Lays out, installs, maintains, and repairs all types of piping systems for maintenance, tank and new construction.

Typical duties include actively supporting the company's commitment to safety and its core values, representing the company with high moral standards, receiving and understanding instructions regarding work assignments, interpreting drawings and sketches, laying out work, setting up and operating equipment, testing, inspecting, dismantling, repairing, replacing, or installing high- or low-pressure piping, assembling and testing piping components, setting up for pipe for welded or special type joints, fastening hangers and supports, handling materials, equipment, and tools, making reports of work performed, identifying safety hazards, and performing all other job-related duties as requested by supervision.

Skills, knowledge, qualifications, and experience include a minimum of four years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience, a general knowledge of basic hand tools, passing the Pipefitter Skills Test at or above 70% or completing the NCCER certification for your craft, experience interpreting engineering drawings & P&ID's, completing Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training, and client/site specific training, obtaining and maintaining an active status within the approved drug testing program, and passing a pre-employment background check.

Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting, talking and hearing to communicate, good dexterity with hands and fingers, using arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull objects, materials, controls, and tools, lifting, carrying, and moving up to 50lbs, working at heights, using vision abilities to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception, and peripheral vision, working outside in the elements, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
