Work Environment

This position is onsite at our state-of-the-art Surgical Center located in Pasadena, Texas. The work schedule typically runs Monday to Friday, with eight-hour shifts that allow for a healthy work-life balance. Our facility fosters a welcoming atmosphere, encouraging collaboration among healthcare professionals and providing a robust support system to ensure the best possible patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive orthopedic care to patients, including diagnostic evaluations, therapeutic procedures, and preventative treatment plans.
• Conduct detailed patient assessments, including taking patient histories and interpreting radiological images and lab results.
• Write prescriptions, order necessary therapies, and assist in surgical procedures when required.
• Manage patient care throughout the entire orthopedic experience—this includes inpatient service, consultations, pre-procedural assessments, procedural care, and follow-up in both hospital and outpatient settings.
• Actively participate in the interdisciplinary team to ensure cohesive and effective treatment protocols.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role is centered around orthopedic patients, ranging from those requiring routine care to those needing extensive surgical interventions. You will engage with a diverse population, including individuals recovering from sports injuries, post-operative orthopedic patients, and those with chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Qualifications

• A minimum of one year of recent clinical experience as a Physician Assistant is required, with an emphasis on orthopedic care.
• A bachelor’s degree from a licensed Physician Assistant program, with further qualifications such as a Master’s or PhD being preferable.
• Must possess a current state license to practice as a Physician Assistant along with national certification.
• DEA certification must be acquired within three months of hire.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective patient interactions.
• Strong organizational and self-management abilities to thrive in an independent role.
• Must be able to meet the credentialing and billing standards to function as a billable provider.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in orthopedic procedures and wound care is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to manage urgent referrals from the community effectively.
• A dedicated fellowship or specialized training in orthopedic practices can be beneficial.
• Prior exposure to the responsibilities of assisting in surgical operations under supervision will greatly enhance candidacy.
