The Sanctuary Golf Club, a prestigious Member-owned private golf club located on Sanibel Island, FL is looking for an experienced Full-time Seasonal Pastry Cook to join our team October 2026 - May 2027.

Our newly renovated Clubhouse spaces offer an exciting, updated environment for our Food and Beverage team to work. The transformation includes a brand new bar with 18+ seats and 35 additional casual dining seats, a flexible dining space for private events and social gatherings, improved acoustics, and completely updated furnishing and finishes.

Organized, creative and detail-oriented, the Pastry Cook will prepare a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to the Chef's specifications, while working closely with the culinary team to ensure quality, consistency, and presentation meet the Club's highest standards.

COMPENSATION: Up to $25.00/hr. (rate dependent upon skills and experience)

SCHEDULE: Full-time, flexible hours are required. Must work days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the Pastry Chef in creating, preparing and presenting baked goods, puddings, gelatins, frozen desserts, stewed and baked fruits, pies, cakes, pastries, icings, custards, fondants, and fillings used in desserts; decorating special pastry
• Assist the Pastry Chef in overseeing pastry cart and buffet dessert table setup and presentation
• Ensuring highest professional food quality and presentation
• Maintaining sanitation and safety standards at all times
• Performing other tasks as assigned by the Executive Chef or Pastry Chef

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, REQUIREMENTS

• Successful completion of a two-year course at culinary school preferred
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in pastry functions, preferably in a private club or upscale environment
• Demonstrated pastry and dessert decorating skills
• Creativity, an artistic eye and attention to detail required
• Able to efficiently and safely use kitchen equipment including but not limited to: large-capacity mixer, ovens, food processors, and other commercial equipment and tools
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, utilize good time management and have patience under pressure
• Must work collaboratively alongside the Executive Chef and Pastry Chef to help develop a cohesive dining experience
• Food Safety Certification required
• Flexible full-time schedule; days, nights, weekends and holidays required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach
• Working with and exposure to industrial equipment including heat, flame, cold storage and similar kitchen-related hazards
• Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position
• Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds
• Continuous repetitive motions
• Work in hot, humid, noisy and fast-paced environment
