Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Medical Surgical Acute Charge RN youll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care LTC or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team.

Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential which aligns with your departments operational goals and objectives.

To thrive in this role you need to be accountable and confident. Youre an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. Its also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

• Mentors others in areas such as competency documentation equipment use plan of care National Patient Safety Goals and participation in inservice education.
• Evaluates care given by staff coaches to improve care and ensures standard of care is maintained.
• Provides direct patient care as needed.
• Exhibits a general understanding of the process for dealing with ethical dilemmas and understands and coordinates the process for obtaining an Ethics Consult.
• Coordinates patient flow on the unit to facilitate the provision of timely and effective care.
• Attends hospital-wide bed board meetings.

Job Requirements

• Associate Of Nursing and Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and/or charge nurse experience
• Registered Nurse: AZ upon hire
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support within six (6) months

Preferred

• Bachelors of Science Nursing
