Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years in Progressive Care License: Active Arizona RN License in good standing Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Must take and pass dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing contract. - EKG knowledge and skills. - Experience with IV cardiac medication administration. - Knowledge of peritoneal dialysis, chronic ventilators, chest tubes, epidural catheters, PCA pumps, transvenous pacing, arterial or venous sheath pulling/care. Description: This role is for an Acute Care RN caring for patients undergoing cardiovascular and surgical services. The unit cares for patients in a fast-paced environment, including those from the cath lab with or without intervention and patients 2-3 days post open-heart surgery. Patient conditions include STEMI, NSTEMI, chronic ventilator support, alcohol withdrawal, suicidal ideation, new BiPAP or CPAP patients, thoracotomies, and renal disease. The unit operates with 14 beds, accommodating both private and double occupancy rooms. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 RN to 3-4 patients, depending on acuity. Key equipment includes Philips cardiac monitors, telemetry, Welch Allyn vital signs monitors, invasive monitoring devices, Medtronic pacemakers, and Sigma Spectrum IV pumps. Floating to the ICU is preferred, with required floating to medical/surgical telemetry units. The dress code consists of navy scrubs with business-appropriate hair colors. Shifts are 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM, requiring three shifts per week. Scheduling of four shifts per week may be accommodated upon discussion. This position entails care for both acute and critical needs, requiring strong clinical skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
