Lead Medical Assistant

Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere that enhances patient service and care Lead by example and maintain office presence and professionalism Communicate with office management to uphold company values, vision, and protocols Maintain thorough knowledge of clinical department SOPs and policies Apply knowledge of clinical treatments and pre-care/post-care instructions Understand provider-to-patient flow and anticipate provider next steps Assist physicians in medical, cosmetic, allergy, and/or laser procedures Prepare and clean exam rooms for procedures and visits Support day-to-day clinical operations through supervision and evaluation of Medical Assistants/LPNs Ensure assigned staff follow company policies, protocols, and opening/closing checklists Scan consumables and retail products daily and place orders as needed Conduct weekly medical supply inventory counts and place bi-weekly or emergency orders Maintain medical equipment and control costs, shortages, overspending, and waste Assist providers with recording treatments, medications, lab requisitions, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorizations, consents, and procedures Audit consumable trackers and laser logs weekly Audit specimen logbooks and lab trackers; ensure protocols are followed Organize and submit required medical forms, EMR notes, lab results, and consents accurately and timely Execute new protocols and support training needs Plan onboarding, training, and continued education for Medical Support Staff Coordinate refill, prior authorization, and To Do task requests with MAs, LPNs, and MA Floater Help supervise and find coverage for call-outs, emergencies, and PTO; cover shifts when needed Enforce CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations and report/document incidents Cross-train to cover the front desk during emergencies Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Previous healthcare experience is required Dermatology experience is required Full time, 30+ hours Availability Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays within operating hours of 7 am-7:30pm Open flexibility to help cover in a team environment 2 - 3 years of experience working in a dermatology/medical environment preferred Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems preferred Computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Excellent patient relation and customer services skills Professional, reliable, and dedicated Strong critical thinking and problem resolution skills; great multitasker Open availability to work during weekdays and weekends Understanding of and ability to enforce CLIA, OSHA and HIPAA regulations Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in dermatology practices, patient care, and clinical operations management while ensuring compliance with CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.
