Job Title: Welding Inspector

PAY: Up to $40 depending on experience.

Job Description

This role focuses on performing precise visual and borescope inspections on TIG and orbital tube welds across a variety of advanced materials. You will help ensure that welded components meet stringent quality and safety standards for demanding applications, particularly within aerospace and automotive environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed visual inspections on TIG and orbital tube welds to verify compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications.

• Conduct borescope inspections to assess internal weld quality, identify defects, and document findings accurately.

• Inspect welds on Monel, Inconel, stainless steel, aluminum, and 3D printed parts, applying appropriate techniques for each material.

• Interpret welding symbols, drawings, and specifications to determine inspection requirements and acceptance criteria.

• Document inspection results clearly and thoroughly, including nonconformances, and communicate findings to relevant teams.

• Collaborate closely with welding and production teams to address weld quality issues and recommend corrective actions.

• Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and equipment, including borescopes and visual inspection instruments.

• Follow established quality procedures and safety guidelines while working in an open, active warehouse environment.

• Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying trends in weld defects and contributing to process enhancements.

Essential Skills

• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential with AWS (American Welding Society) certification.

• Minimum of 5 years of certified welding inspection experience.

• Hands-on experience performing visual and borescope inspection on TIG and orbital tube welds.

• Proficiency inspecting welds on Monel, Inconel, stainless steel, aluminum, and 3D printed parts.

• Ability to interpret welding codes, standards, and engineering drawings.

• Attention to detail and strong documentation skills for recording inspection results.

• Solid understanding of welding processes, weld defects, and acceptance criteria.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a clean aerospace or similar high-precision manufacturing environment.

• Familiarity with inspection workflows in open warehouse settings with segmented work areas.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with welders, engineers, and production staff.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Beach, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
