Sr. Configuration Center Technician (Req #1293)

Overview As a Sr Configuration Center Technician, you will be responsible for working on multi‑customer, multivendor configuration projects as an individual or part of a team. This is a technician role in a light industrial IT warehouse environment. The position is responsible for the preparation, setup, configuration, testing, consolidation, and packaging of customer equipment required for both major configuration rollouts and small scope maintenance work. The Sr Configuration Center Technician works to ensure configuration projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at 100% accuracy. The position will involve data entry for status and reporting information and may work closely with the Project Management Team(s) and Warehouse Team to ensure project goals are met. Location: Candidates must be located in or near Chandler, Arizona with the willingness to work on‑site five days a week. Essential Functions Follow detailed specifications for the setup, configuration and testing of customer equipment. Set up a variety of equipment types for configuration and testing (including PCs, peripheral equipment, servers and network equipment). Configure customer equipment as appropriate to projects. Complete customer configuration check‑off lists to ensure 100% accuracy of configured devices and shipments. Track and record inventory required for projects. Prepare configured equipment for shipment. Manage data involving configuration status, schedules and project deliverables. Assist as needed with daily maintenance, clean‑up and organization of the Configuration Lab, including lifting and packaging of boxes. Limited field technician support may be required for installation, training, scope definition, or as backup for the project team resources. Occasional travel may be required. Customer and Vendor Interface and Communication Develop a thorough understanding of the customer's configuration process and professionally interface directly with customers to gather configuration information as needed. Document and troubleshoot vendor equipment exceptions (DOA and damaged). Participate in project‑related meetings as needed. Assist with job status reporting via Microsoft Office and other tools. Contribute to process documentation. Communication Effectively communicate throughout the organization. Takes direction accurately and provides constructive feedback when appropriate. Interpersonal Relationships Establish and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time: Project Teams Warehouse Department Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience. Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of various operating systems, including Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, and VMware Hypervisor. Basic PC troubleshooting skills and knowledge of various Microsoft operating systems. Exposure to technical (LAN/WAN) environments and understanding of basic terminology and functions. Experience with rack and stack, labeling, and cabling is required. Configuration lab experience a plus. Field installation experience involving low‑voltage infrastructure a plus. Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite tools. Physically able to lift PCs, servers, peripherals and network equipment. Ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments. Ability to accurately track, troubleshoot and problem‑solve. Enthusiastic with exceptional organizational skills. Ability to manage one’s own time effectively. Proven quality assurance aptitude. LAN/WAN certifications a plus. Microsoft certifications a plus. CCNA or other related certifications a plus. Position Specifics The initial base salary range for this position is expected to be between $28.90 and $36.05 hourly. The final base salary offered will be determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job‑related knowledge, depth of experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
