Account Manager II, Employee Benefits

Opportunity An Employee Benefits Account Manager provides critical support to clients, overseeing health and welfare programs, advocating for clients, and managing systems to ensure effective program delivery. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of the account-service process, collaborating with producers and HUB personnel on client service, marketing, and renewal. Analyze clients’ business and insurance objectives, compare plans, and recommend suitable options. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and insurance carriers. Serve as the primary client contact for eligibility, claims, billing, and benefit administration inquiries. Maintain accurate account files and update HUB computer and agency management systems. Keep current with industry changes and advise clients accordingly; attend continuing education courses. Update enrollment packets, submit BOR letters, and coordinate renewals and new plans. Prepare presentations and reports for renewals, open enrollment, and post-enrollment data. Lead implementation of new or renewed plans and vendor programs. Partner with producers to design benefit strategies and conduct financial analysis. Assist with billing, reconciliation, and vendor payments. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred. 3–5 years of benefit insurance experience (brokerage preferred) or equivalent education and experience. Life & Health license or willingness to obtain one within 3 months. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong written and oral communication skills with internal and external customers. Ability to present information to managers, clients, and the general public. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Customer service orientation and ability to handle difficult situations. Strong client relationship management. Teamwork and coaching skills. Strong organizational and prioritization abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and agency management systems. Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and commissions. Working Conditions Work is primarily stationary, requiring frequent computer use, telephone communication, and occasional light office movement. Benefits & Compensation Competitive salary range of $90,000–$105,000 (location dependent). Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA, HSA, and 401(k) accounts, paid time off, bonuses, and equity for applicable positions.
