Meals on Wheels Orange County Meals on Wheels Orange County is the largest nonprofit provider of nutrition and supportive services for at-risk older adults in Central and North Orange County. Our mission is to combat hunger and loneliness among older adults through nutritious meals, friendly visits, and safety checks, and to support families through day services. We deliver nearly 2 million meals annually to 20,000 at-risk older adults. Location: Newport Beach, CA (Oasis Senior Center) Hours: Part Time/ Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM (25 hours per week) Hourly Range: $17.50 - $20.50 per hour (Hourly rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience). Job Summary This position is responsible for oversight of the Home Delivered Meal Program based out of a specific site to include other sites if needed. Responsibilities include completing applicable assessments, receiving meals, packing meals according to route assignment, greeting volunteer drivers, managing volunteer schedules, delivering meals in personal or company vehicle, recruiting volunteers, maintaining records and submitting reports, and performing other job-related tasks as appropriate. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Knowledge and implementation of HDM Procedure Manual and ability to follow all stated Title III, regulations. Conduct initial in-home client assessments and follow-up assessments on a quarterly basis. Input client information, manage and maintain accurate and timely electronic client records and confidential client files. Prepare and submit all required documentation to Administrative Services to facilitate client's on-boarding process. Maintain accurate daily records and submit timely reports regarding route capacity, meal orders, meals delivered, wasted meals, missed meals, meal holds, and client rosters. Responsible for ordering, receiving, and packaging home delivered meals. Assists with recruiting, training, and monitoring volunteer delivery drivers, including utilizing Volunteer Hub. Loads and delivers meals to participants in an assigned geographic area daily in a timely and safe manner. All perishable food must be maintained at 40F or lower temperature at all times. Packs coolers with adequate amounts of ice. Drive Meals on Wheels routes and deliver meals to clients when necessary. Provides regular social contact with participants during delivery. Reports client-specific problems to the appropriate Case Manager Supervisor as soon as possible. Reports any client related problems of emergency nature to Supervisor immediately. Completes APS referrals when needed as required as a Mandated Reporter. Updates directions for client delivery by route. Takes food temperatures or monitors those who take food temperatures as required and maintain temperature control charts. Documents all undelivered foods at end of day. Disposes of unsafe foods and returns "safe" foods to proper storage area. Ensures that coolers are cleaned up and stored appropriately at the end of each day. Practices safe operating procedures and observes all safety regulations and precautions as prescribed by MOWOC. Operates vehicle in a safe and lawful manner. Provides a safe work environment by communicating problems and suggestions for safe operation. Maintains records and information, submit daily communication forms and prepare accurate and timely reports related to meal delivery, volunteer hours and if required, vehicle maintenance. Responsible for the proper handling of meal donations according to MOWOC policy guidelines. Attends staff meetings and training sessions as required. Performs other duties and assignments related to this job as deemed necessary and appropriate. Education, Experience and Qualifications Associate degree or equivalent comparable work experience preferred. Some experience supervising and directing staff and volunteers (volunteer work included). Must be able to work well with volunteers, staff, and clients of all ages. Be able to read, interpret, and implement regulations, policies, and procedures. Must be able to maintain complex department records. Clear communication skills, both verbal and in writing, required. Must have own transportation (if required), valid California Driver's License and auto insurance as required by state law. Must pass post-offer physical. ServSafe or Food Handlers certification within 90 days of employment as determined by management. Physical Job Requirements Constantly remains in a stationary position or traverses locations.
