Job Description Anesthesiology Opening in Syracuse, NY Seeking general anesthesiologists. Join a supportive team and collegial working environment. Practitioners are encouraged to practice to their skillset and are not locked into a specific service line. Case Mix: Cardiac, major vascular, orthopedics, obstetrics, neurosurgery, general surgery, urology, and gynecology. Minimal pediatric- mainly at ASC. No transplants. No trauma. 1 in-house Anesthesiologist and 1 beeper-call as backup.* Regional non-profit healthcare system based in Syracuse, NY. Hospital offers primary, specialty, and home care, and collaboration with community partners. Responsibilities Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures Pre-anesthesia assessment Obtains and/or verifies patient consent Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition* Performance of clinical intervention as needed Requirements M.D./D.O.
