Sabal Eye Care is seeking a friendly, reliable, and patient-focused Optical Assistant / Optician to join our growing team in Longwood. We are looking for someone who is professional, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping patients look and see their best.
Both experienced non-licensed candidates and licensed opticians are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with frame styling and lens selections
- Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and products
- Perform accurate measurements including PDs and segment heights
- Adjust, repair, and dispense eyewear
- Verify vision insurance benefits and explain coverage
- Check in and process optical orders
- Troubleshoot patient concerns regarding glasses and fit
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the optical area
- Deliver exceptional customer service and patient care
Qualifications
- Previous optical experience preferred but not required
- Florida Optician License is a plus, but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Comfortable working with technology and electronic medical records
- Team player with strong attention to detail
