Accountant-Japanese Bilingual

Position: Accounting Specialist Location: West Hollywood, CA Industry: Luxury Resale (Startup) Employment Type: Full-time Working Hours: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM Mon-Fri Salary: $70‑100K (DOE) Overview Our Client, a Japanese luxury resale startup is opening a new store in West Hollywood this October. This role will be the key person in charge of accounting and back‑office operations in the U.S. You will handle accounting, HR support, and general operations while working closely with the Japan HQ and global teams. Key Responsibilities Manage daily accounting tasks (invoice tracking, expense recording using QuickBooks) Prepare monthly reports for management (including reports in Japanese) Coordinate with external accounting firms (tax, payroll, compliance) Support store setup and vendor coordination Assist with hiring, onboarding, and payroll administration Handle a wide range of back‑office and operational tasks Training Initial training (approx. 2 months) Possible accounting training in Singapore Ongoing support from global accounting team and external CPA Requirements Japanese bilingual skill required English: Business level Basic accounting knowledge (in‑house accounting experience preferred) Experience with QuickBooks or similar systems Detail‑oriented and able to work independently Flexible and willing to handle multiple responsibilities Preferred Experience as an in‑house accountant Experience in retail or small business operations Experience supporting HR/payroll functions Background in Japanese companies Work Environment Initially support store setup, then transition to independent operations Work closely with Japan‑based management and global teams One‑person accounting role with external and internal support #J-18808-Ljbffr
