In the Technical Specialist position, the individual is responsible for outside customer sales and sales satisfaction through direct contact, phone, or other electronic communications. Sales functions include territory management, customer interaction activities, prospecting for new customers, contract/pricing negotiations, product presentation, inventory management, uncovering needs and closing sales. Individual will be placed in an established account base and will be encouraged to achieve sales and margin objectives.**Exciting work you will do:**The essential duties and responsibilities of the Outside Sales Technical Specialist will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:* Manage, grow, strategize, and support the assigned territory* Work alongside an established team covering multiple states in the Midwest market* Generate profitable orders and meet or exceed annual sales targets* Actively seek out new clients to expand the assigned territory* Maintain strong and trusted relationships with manufacturers and customers* Regularly analyze your field activities, determine the improvements required, act on them, ultimately bringing a high level of productivity and efficiency* Monitor and review all quotations, professionally follow-up, and maximize sales* Develop a full understanding of your client base, territory, competition, and market* Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently, negotiate effectively, manage sales planning skills* Identify all sales opportunities and work earnestly to convert them to orders* Perform other duties as assigned**Competencies you possess:*** Service Excellence* Results, Action Oriented* Accountability and Responsibility* Teamwork and Collaboration* Priority Setting* Planning and Organizing* Negotiating* Presentation Skills* Time Management**What you’ll need:*** **Work Experience**: Minimum 1-year experience in outside sales* **Education:**Bachelor’s degree, technical degree, or equivalent combination of skills and experience* **Analytics/Computer Skills:**Proficient with Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.) and the ability to learn new software; business acumen, including problem solving skills, critical thinking, and analytical abilities* **Organization Skills:**Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed; ability to work in fast-paced, continuously evolving environment* **Communication Skills:** Strong interpersonal communications, analytical and problem solving, organizational and written/verbal communication skills; strong influencing skills* **Physical, Mental and Visual Skills:**The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
