Technical Project Manager

Akkodis is seeking a Technical Project Manger for one of our clients in Dearborn, Michigan. Rate Range: $40.00/hour to $50.00/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. This role is 4 days on-site and 1 day WFH. Description We are seeking a highly organized and proactive project manager to manage and optimize the team's Jira backlog, support execution planning for product improvement initiatives, and serve as a key liaison between engineering, leadership, and customers. This role is responsible for ensuring effective backlog management, roadmap planning, stakeholder communication, and delivery tracking across multiple workstreams. The ideal candidate will bring strong project management skills, advanced Jira expertise, and the ability to translate strategic priorities into actionable plans that drive successful outcomes. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of experience in Information Technology, with at least 1 year focused on Program or Project Management. Strong project management experience, including planning, prioritization, risk identification, and execution tracking. Advanced Jira expertise is required, including experience with Advanced Roadmaps/Portfolio, Jira Automation, workflow configuration, dashboard creation and reporting, JQL (Jira Query Language), release tracking and management, and backlog grooming/ticket hygiene best practices. Experience managing product backlogs, sprint planning, backlog refinement sessions, and roadmap execution. Ability to create and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, and dependency tracking across multiple initiatives. Experience developing status reports, dashboards, and executive-level communications. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proven ability to identify blockers, escape risks, and drive alignment across cross-functional teams. Preferred Experience Experience gathering customer feedback and translating insights into actionable backlog items and product enhancements. Experience serving as a liaison between customers, product teams, and engineering organizations. Experience supporting product incubation, developer enablement, engineering productivity initiatives, or technical transformation programs. Experience facilitating customer-facing meetings, demonstrations, and product update sessions. Experience creating release communications, roadmap updates, executive presentations, and stakeholder-facing status reports. Experience building trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders and managing cross-team communications. Familiarity with Agile methodologies, sprint ceremonies, retrospectives, and quarterly planning processes. Education Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred Experience Experience with Vertex AI, Gemini models, and other GCP AI and machine learning services. Experience with QlikView or similar business intelligence and analytics tools. Knowledge of modern data lakehouse architectures and enterprise-scale data governance practices. Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate engineering delivery and improve code quality. Exposure to advanced analytics, machine learning, or AI-driven data solutions.
