Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney in Tacoma, Washington. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of litigation experience, with a preference for construction-related experience. This role involves supporting a dynamic litigation team and contributing to case strategy and client communication. Duties Support a busy litigation team in managing matters from investigation through resolution or trial. Draft pleadings, handle discovery, take and defend depositions, and argue motions. Analyze contracts, including indemnity and insurance provisions; construction law experience is a plus. Represent clients in mediation, arbitration, and trial settings. Contribute to case strategy, client communication, and risk assessment. Requirements Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active member in good standing with the Washington State Bar. 2+ years of litigation experience. Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills. Excellent judgment, communication, and case‑management abilities. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with construction statutes such as RCW Chapter 64.50 and related Washington laws. Construction‑related litigation preferred, but not required. Ability to manage multiple high‑level cases with limited supervision. Background in advising clients on risk mitigation, claims handling, or insurance strategy. Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Certifications Active member in good standing with the Washington State Bar. Skills Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
