Job Responsibilities

• Provides outstanding customer service
• Maintains HIPAA standards related to Privacy and Security
• Performs administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor
• Obtain health histories, vital signs, weight, and height
• Performs venipuncture and collection of other lab specimens as ordered by providers (i.e., urinalysis, pregnancy test, glucose hemoglobin)
• Deliver culturally competent care in farmworker and Latino healthcare services
• Assists in preparing patients for examination and drawing blood, etc.
• Handles front office duties, which include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding for insurance purposes
• Physical Requirement(s): Occasional lifting of up to 45 lbs.
• Responds to Public Health Emergencies

Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; or High School diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience in medical assisting. (Please mail or bring a copy of College Transcript or Diploma to Interview-must have official transcript prior to start date). Physical Requirements include occasional lifting of up to 45 lbs.

Additional Information
Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a paramedical capacity
• Previous employment with any state's Department of Public Health or a County Board of Health
• Experience working with pregnant women and with infants
• Bilingual (Fluent in Spanish and English)

This position may require driving company vehicles (Valid driver's license required) and working some evenings and weekends during special events such as health fairs and responding to disasters.
