Director, Behavioral Health Network Engagement

Lead the strategy and execution of behavioral health network adoption across priority state markets.
You will manage and coach a team responsible for turning network strategies into measurable provider engagement and referral growth.
The role focuses on building a disciplined, repeatable adoption model that connects state priorities with clear execution at the provider level.
You will partner closely with account management, state agencies, and internal leadership to resolve challenges and accelerate outcomes.
AI-powered tools will support tracking, reporting, documentation, and activity analysis, allowing you to focus on judgment, coaching, escalations, and relationships.
Success will be measured by meaningful provider engagement, stronger network performance, and increased referral activity rather than activity volume alone.

Accountabilities:

• Complete remaining hiring and talent decisions for the Network Engagement team, including final team additions and contractor-to-FTE conversions, and establish a consistent weekly operating cadence.
• Translate state-level priorities and risk plans from account management into specific, actionable execution plans for Network Engagement Leads, including named accounts, contact cadences, and defined service expectations.
• Relaunch and scale the hub-and-spoke adoption model across priority states, owning provider-side engagement and referral growth while partnering with account management on hub relationships.
• Design and continuously improve onboarding and adoption playbooks, defining what should be documented and tracked while leveraging AI to support documentation and system maintenance.
• Identify and resolve execution gaps before they become escalations, working directly with account management to address priority and timeline disagreements.
• Diagnose stalled provider relationships and accounts, determine appropriate corrective actions, and use AI-generated activity insights to identify areas requiring attention.
• Represent network engagement with state agency partners and internal leadership, validating and refining AI-assisted status reporting and ensuring accurate communication of progress and risks.
• Establish clear performance expectations, accountability mechanisms, and measurement approaches for the Network Engagement team.
• Monitor network adoption, provider engagement, and referral trends to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure execution remains aligned with strategic priorities.
• Build a scalable operating model that enables consistent execution across multiple states and strengthens the team's role as a trusted strategic execution partner.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience leading teams in a customer-facing, revenue-adjacent function such as implementation, customer success, account management, network management, or a similar environment.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven ability to translate ambiguous strategic direction into clear, measurable, and actionable plans for a team.
• Experience partnering with a separate revenue-owning organization to translate strategy into execution and resolve priority or timeline disagreements directly and effectively.
• Demonstrated confidence in making people decisions, including hiring, team development, performance management, and role conversions.
• Experience diagnosing why a repeatable operational or customer-engagement motion has stalled and determining what needs to change before relaunching it.
• Strong fluency with AI tools used for tracking, reporting, documentation, synthesis, and operational workflows, with the ability to direct and validate AI-supported systems rather than manually build them.
• Deep understanding of behavioral health delivery systems and state Medicaid or crisis-response programs, with the ability to distinguish meaningful state priorities from lower-value signals.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to influence more senior stakeholders while preserving productive relationships.
• Forward-thinking and curious mindset with an openness to experimenting with emerging technologies and new operating approaches.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, combined with sound judgment and creativity.
• Proven ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly evolving environments.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment and maintain high-quality virtual collaboration.
• Willingness and ability to travel periodically for work.
