This contract opportunity is perfect for a skilled school-based Social Worker who thrives in an elementary setting and is eager to make a lasting difference. Serving part-time onsite, you’ll provide essential support from August through May, collaborating with educators and families to enhance student outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work required
- Professional Educator License (PEL) mandatory
- Experience providing social work services within a school environment preferred
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to connect with students of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary educational team
- Deep understanding of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and individualized student plans
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-person social work services to elementary students, helping them navigate academic, social, and emotional challenges
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions tailored to student needs
- Coordinate with teachers, staff, and families to create effective support strategies
- Assist in developing and implementing IEP/504 plans, including relevant documentation and meetings
- Offer crisis intervention and resource referrals as needed
- Foster a safe and welcoming school environment, promoting positive behavioral support practices
