Sr. Director, AI Operations & Enablement

Overview Dow Jones is hiring a Sr. Director for AI Operations & Enablement. This operator-builder role combines strategic judgment with hands-on technical fluency in modern AI tooling. The leader will drive high-priority Tech Ops initiatives, reengineer workflows, prototype AI-enabled processes, and build scalable, AI-native operating models across a global information business. You Will This is a high-visibility, high-autonomy role with the latitude to design the operating model, apply technical leverage, and scale a team. If you are an operator-builder who wants to define what AI-first technology operations look like at a global news and information business, this is the seat. Operate as a Strategic Force-Multiplier Independently own and drive critical Tech Ops priorities end-to-end, know when to escalate and when to ship. Translate executive intent into structured plans, decisions, and outcomes, raising the bar on quality and accuracy without requiring oversight. Represent Tech Ops in cross-functional forums with credibility to commit and decide. Reengineer How Work Gets Done Lead wholesale process reengineering across Tech Ops and adjacent Product & Technology functions. Interview senior leaders and frontline staff to map current-state workflows, surface bottlenecks, and identify quick wins and full AI-first rebuilds. Design target-state operating models that materially improve speed, quality, and cost. Define measurable efficiency outcomes (cycle time, manual hours saved, error rate, throughput) and own them through delivery. Build AI-Native Workflows Directly (Hands-On) Prototype AI-enabled automations and internal tools with minimal handoff. Use modern AI coding assistants and agentic development tooling to accelerate build time. Integrate AI capabilities into the SaaS stack the business already runs on, surfacing value where users work. Set the technical bar for what "AI-native" means inside Tech Ops through working artifacts, not slideware. Bridge Technology and the Business Build trusted relationships with leaders across Product, Technology, and business teams as well as News Corp. Translate between technical capability and business outcome; ensure clear communication on both sides. Drive enterprise-wide AI adoption by meeting teams where they are, not by mandate. Influence governance processes to improve review cycles. Scale What Works through Systems Thinking Convert one-off wins into reusable playbooks, frameworks, and internal products. Document, train, and enable others to extend the operating model. Identify when a workstream matures to staff and scale a team underneath the role over time. You Have 15+ years of progressive experience spanning technology operations, product/program management, management consulting, or transformation roles with a track record of ambitious mandates. Ownership of cross-functional process reengineering at enterprise scale: interviewing leaders, mapping workflows, designing operating models, and delivering change. Hands-on technical fluency with modern AI tooling; ability to prototype, automate, and build internal tools; capable of reading, writing, and shipping code when speed matters. Understanding of how AI reshapes enterprise operations: models, agents, retrieval, evaluation, and SaaS integration. Proven ability to act as a trusted force-multiplier to a senior executive; deliver structured outcomes with high quality and judgment. Ability to interview both C-suite leaders and frontline operators with clear communication. Balance strategic framing with tactical execution. Strong relationship-building across Product, Technology, and business stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication; translate technical decisions into business terms. Bias toward shipping, prototyping, and learning in public over polishing in private. Bachelor 's degree or equivalent; advanced degree welcomed but not required.
