Speech Language Pathologist Assistant

Overview Salary: $16.01 - $18.38 per hour DOE. Traditional school year position. At Wilson School District, the Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA), under general supervision, supports the Speech Language Pathologist with providing direct, skilled speech therapy services to students. Opportunities to provide and grow in a leadership role are available. Responsibilities Attend and actively participate in all appropriate Child Study Team (C.S.T.), Section 504, Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (M.E.T.), and Individualized Education Program (I.E.P.) team meetings. Complete all state and federal required paperwork within required timelines. Provide individual and group speech-language services to students as described in the IEP and 504 plans. Become familiar with the operation of instructional equipment and materials as well as office machines for preparing material. Prepare quarterly, or more frequent if needed, progress reports on each assigned student to include in the quarterly grade reporting process. Complete all Medicaid reports and requirements in a timely manner. Participate in district training as appropriate. Travel between more than one school may be required. Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the Special Education Coordinator, immediate supervisor or site principal. Minimum Education and/or Experience AA/Bachelor’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or completion of an approved training program as outlined by Arizona Revised Statutes. Current licensure from the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS). Must possess a valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. A valid state driver’s license may be required. Preferred Education and/or Experience AA/Bachelor’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or completion of an approved training program as outlined by Arizona Revised Statutes. Current licensure from the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS). Must possess a valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. A valid state driver’s license may be required. Work with bilingual students preferred.
