Location: West Tulsa 

Packing Helper Pay Rate and Hours:

• $23-$26/hr depending on experience 
• Monday—Thursday. 5:30 AM — 4:15 PM (4 x 10-hour days, includes 30-minute unpaid lunch)

Packing Helper Job Description:

• Shipping and Packaging Assistant is responsible for carefully inspecting, packing and wrapping pallets of finished metal fabricated parts. 
• They do this under the supervision and direction of the Shipping Supervisor who will also train for this position. 
• S&P Assistant must verify all finished goods are packaged accurately, safely, and in accordance with customer requirements and shipping specifications, this role is accountable for quality, productivity, and on-time shipment readiness. 

Packing Helper Skills: 

• Review work orders, shipping documents, and customer packaging requirements before packing begins 
• Inspect finished parts and assemblies for quality, completeness, and correctness before packaging 
• Select and apply appropriate packing materials (foam, bubble wrap, dunnage, crating) to protect parts during transit 
• Apply labels, part numbers, and shipping marks per customer and carrier specifications 
• Coordinate with shipping personnel to ensure timely handoff of packed orders to carriers 
• Maintain accurate packing records. BOLS, and shipping documentation 
• Track packing supply inventory; request a reorder of materials before stock runs out 
• Ensure workstation and packing area are organized, clean, and compliant with 5S standards 
• Identify and resolve packing errors or customer complaints; escalate as needed to supervision 
• Follow and enforce all safety procedures and PPE requirements within the department 
• High school diploma or GED required 
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a packing, shipping, or warehouse role 
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
• Basic computer Skills including email and data entry 
• Effective communication skills; ability to lead and motivate a small team 
• Understanding of shipping carrier requirements (UPS, FedEx, LTL freight)
• Experience packing industrial or sheet metal fabricated parts 
• Forklift or pallet jack certification 
• Familiarity with shipping software or ERP systems
