This is an excellent opportunity for healthcare professionals with experience in patient registration, patient access, admissions, insurance verification, scheduling, or revenue cycle operations who thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment.If you have strong customer service skills, healthcare registration experience, and are proficient with hospital information systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech, we encourage you to apply!Job DetailsPosition: Patient Services CoordinatorLocation: Worcester, MA (Onsite)Duration: 3-Month ContractDepartment: Revenue CycleShift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (32 hours/week)Break: 30-minute unpaid breakWeekend & Holiday Rotation RequiredKey ResponsibilitiesRegister patients and accurately enter demographic and insurance informationVerify insurance eligibility, referrals, pre-authorizations, and pre-certificationsObtain HIPAA, Consent to Treat, and other required patient documentationResolve insurance discrepancies and verify coverage informationSchedule Radiology, Laboratory, and ancillary appointmentsComplete Emergency Department, Labor & Delivery, inpatient admissions, and Surgical Day registrationsCoordinate admissions, transfers, discharges, and bed control activitiesCollect patient financial responsibilities including copays, deductibles, coinsurance, balances, and self-pay amountsAssist patients with financial counseling referrals when appropriateMonitor Patient Access and Revenue Cycle work queuesPerform medical clerical duties including filing, faxing, mailing, typing, transcription, and document retrievalComplete online death certificate registry documentationReceive and safeguard patient valuablesMaintain accurate patient records while ensuring HIPAA complianceParticipate in departmental meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiativesDeliver exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providersRequired QualificationsAssociate Degree or Healthcare-related certificate1–2 years of hospital registration, patient access, admissions, scheduling, or revenue cycle experienceExperience with insurance verification and prior authorizationsExperience in Emergency Department, Labor & Delivery, or inpatient admissionsStrong data entry skills with excellent attention to detailExcellent communication and customer service skillsExperience collecting patient demographic and insurance informationAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environmentReliable attendance and punctualityAbility to work onsitePreferred QualificationsExperience with:EpicCernerMeditechOther hospital registration systemsMedical terminology knowledgeHealthcare customer service experienceHospital admissions or scheduling experienceInsurance verification experienceRevenue Cycle experienceBilingual (reading, writing, and speaking)Technical SkillsEpic EMRCernerMeditechPatient Registration SystemsWindows ApplicationsMicrosoft OfficeMedical Data EntryInsurance VerificationMedical DocumentationRevenue Cycle Systems
