We are currently seeking a Evolutive General Plant Manager My client, an automotive equipment manufacturer well established in its markets, has just entered a phase of external growth that will profoundly reshape its industrial footprint over the coming years. Several acquisitions are already under review, and executive management has made a clear choice: rather than recruit a regional director once the group has been assembled, they want to identify now the leader who will head that footprint, establish them on a site where they can prove themselves, and progressively hand them the entire Mexico / United States region as the transactions come to completion. In other words, the Plant Manager position is the entry point of a trajectory, not its destination. Phase 1 — Take command of the site and prove it You take full charge of a plant and drive industrial performance across every dimension: safety, quality, cost, and delivery. You build your management team, you develop your supervisors and shift leaders into genuine autonomy, and you install a performance culture that holds without you in the room. You deploy a demanding continuous improvement approach — OEE, scrap rate, conversion cost, lead time — built on the group's standards. You manage the site's human, material, and financial resources with the discipline of a profit-center owner. And you guarantee IATF 16949 compliance and uncompromising adherence to EHS standards, because nothing that follows will be possible if those fundamentals are not held. Crucially, you are not managing the plant in isolation from the market. You sit at the interface with the customers, you defend your site in program reviews and sourcing decisions, and you turn operational credibility into commercial leverage — because in this industry, the plants that win new business are the ones whose leadership the customer trusts. Phase 2 — Build and lead the regional footprint Once your credibility is established on the ground, your scope widens and the nature of the role shifts entirely. You step in upstream of the acquisitions, alongside executive management, to lead operational due diligence and assess the industrial reality of the targets. You build and drive the hundred-day integration plans, arbitrating between what must be harmonized immediately and what must be preserved from the culture of the acquired companies. You deploy a common foundation of processes, indicators, and management practices across every site. Then you take full and complete responsibility for several plants across the region, with the latitude to build your own regional leadership team. This is also where the commercial dimension of the role comes into its own. You become the industrial face of the group in front of its key accounts. You consolidate the customer portfolios of the acquired companies, you identify the cross-selling opportunities that emerge from the combined footprint, and you build the account strategies that turn a collection of plants into a regional player with genuine bargaining power. You take part in the quotation and program‑award decisions that will shape the group's revenue for years ahead. Growth here is not something you inherit from a sales department — it is something you drive. This is a complete role, in the strongest sense of the word: operations, transformation, integration, commercial development. Few mandates offer that breadth at this level of responsibility. The profile I am looking for You bring proven experience as a Plant Manager or Operations Director in the automotive industry, with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplier. You hold an engineering degree — mechanical, industrial engineering, or equivalent — and you have demonstrated your ability to deliver tangible results in lean manufacturing as well as in change management. Experience in post-acquisition integration, plant start‑up, or turnaround will weigh decisively in your favor. You are fluent in Spanish and English, and you operate with ease in a bicultural Mexican and North American environment. Finally, you accept sustained mobility across the region — an indispensable condition for building the footprint.
