Job Details Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Hiring Range: $23.28 - $41.90 Schedule Details: Monday, Tuesday Scheduled Hours: 7-4 Shift: 1 - Day Shift, 10 Hours (United States of America) Hours: 0 Cost Center: 25080 - 3992 EEG Signing Bonus: May be available; eligibility confirmed during interview. Major Responsibilities Operate NDC equipment to record patients' brain waves or nerve impulses; monitor, record and document all aspects of recording. Add extra electrodes as necessary to determine the nature of irregularity and document identifying data (e.g., bell, deep breathing, distraction, seizure and type) on tracing. Perform special types of EEGs or Long‑Term Epilepsy monitoring and drug‑induced studies. Perform Evoked Potentials, special types of EEGs or Long‑Term Epilepsy monitoring and drug‑induced studies once deemed competent via in‑house training. Prepare the patient, explain the procedure, and ensure patients’ cooperation during the procedure. Assist physician in preparing and positioning patients for BOTOX, including accurate documentation of the procedure once deemed competent via in‑house training. Assist in troubleshooting malfunctioning or inoperative equipment, carry out testing procedures, and replace modular parts. Obtain assistance in maintenance of equipment from Biomedical Engineering. Provide on‑call and weekend coverage as assigned. Perform other related clerical and technical duties in the lab when necessary. Provide technical training and technical assistance to non‑registered techs or tech students as assigned. Position Qualifications License/Certification/Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Registered in Nerve Conduction Testing through a qualified organization such as AAET or ABEM. Must become board certified in the major field of testing within three years of employment as a condition of employment. BLS certified. Experience/Skills: One year of experience in a clinic or inpatient setting. Strong oral and written communication skills to interact with staff, physicians, and patients. Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions Work is considered sedentary. The position requires work indoors in a normal patient care environment.
