Established insurance defense firm seeking a mid to senior level attorney to join its legal team. Candidate must have experience in insurance defense. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where your skills in legal research and writing, negotiation, legal analysis and development of successful defense strategies will make a meaningful impact. Knowledge of insurance coverage is a plus.

Duties

• Defend insurance claims across multiple practice areas including construction, premises, statutory violations, auto accidents, contract disputes and general litigation.
• Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw to support case strategies and ensure compliance with procedural laws.
• Draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, contracts, and depositions with precision and clarity.
• Represent clients in court depositions, hearings, and trials
• Negotiate settlements effectively to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, communicate case developments clearly, and provide strategic legal counsel.
• Assist in trial preparation by organizing evidence, preparing witnesses, and developing case theories aligned with statutory and procedural law.

Requirements

• Proven experience in insurance defense litigation.
• Strong knowledge of procedural law, statutory research, and legal motion preparation.
• Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw;
• Knowledgeable about billing software;
• Excellent writing skills for drafting clear legal documents and persuasive arguments.
• Demonstrated ability to handle party, treater and expert depositions and trial preparation under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively to produce solid, winning work product;
• Exceptional client communication skills coupled with strong negotiation abilities to advocate effectively on behalf of clients.
• Legal administrative experience including case management and computer knowledge (Word, Adobe, Outlook) to support ongoing litigation efforts.
