ScopeofPosition TheSupervisorisprimarilyresponsibleforadministeringnursingoperationswithinTheJamesCancerHospitaland Research Instituteduring off-shift hours including weekends and holidays.TheAdministrativeNursing Supervisor is responsible for enforcing hospital, nursing and medical policies and procedures.The Ohio State University Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care our patients receive. PositionSummary Supervisingtheimmediatecareofourpatientsonagiventourofduty,whichincludesmakingroundstoallpatient care areas. Obtains report from the charge nurse and is knowledgeable of current patient status. Supervises the personnel of the nursing department on duty and contributes to evaluation of nursing personnel, recommends personnelactiontotheappropriatenursemanagerincludingdisciplinaryactionsand/orterminations.Coordinates nursing activities with those of related departments, acts as liaison to OSUH. Provides information for staffing needs. Functions as The James Cancer Hospital & Research Institute representative for crisis, emergency orunusualsituations. MinimumQualifications Graduateofanaccreditedschoolofnursing.CurrentOhiolicensure.Progressivelyresponsiblehospitalnursing experience in administration, and supervision.BSN required.ACLS certification preferred.
