SAP BASIS Administrator

As a Junior SAP BASIS Administrator at oXya, you will play a key role in supporting a diverse range of customers by deploying and managing IT technologies across SAP environments, databases, operating systems, networks, and public cloud platforms. Working alongside experienced SAP BASIS consultants, you will help monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, implement changes within SAP landscapes, and deliver reliable, high-quality support to our customers while building your technical expertise. This role is ideal for someone with strong problem-solving skills, and a desire to build a career in SAP BASIS and cloud infrastructure.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with daily SAP system monitoring and operational activities
• Perform routine system checks, analyze monitoring reports, and escalate issues when required
• Support incident resolution by troubleshooting basic SAP system, database, and operating system issues
• Assist with SAP user administration, transport management, and printer configuration activities
• Support SAP system maintenance activities including patches, upgrades, and refresh operations under guidance
• Assist with database backup monitoring and validation activities
• Gain exposure to SAP HANA, Oracle databases, and SAP system landscapes
• Support operating system activities across Linux and Windows environments
• Assist with SAP infrastructure operations across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, including (but not limited to) virtual machines, storage, backups, snapshots, monitoring, access management, and basic networking support.
• Perform basic operating system administration activities across Linux and Windows environments, including service checks, log review, file system monitoring, permissions validation, and coordination of OS-level patching activities.
• Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational guides
• Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and continuous improvement initiatives
• Follow established operational procedures and contribute to team success

PROJECT/CHANGE MANAGEMENT

• Support recurring operational activities and assigned technical tasks
• Assist with SAP installations, upgrades, migrations, and system refresh activities
• Learn and participate in client copy, kernel upgrades, transport activities, and other BASIS-related tasks
• Assist with preparation and execution of technical changes following established procedures
• Document completed activities and lessons learned
• Develop knowledge of SAP project delivery methodologies and best practices

COMMUNICATION/PRESENCE

• Work closely with team members, service delivery managers, and customer teams
• Provide updates on assigned tasks, incidents, and operational activities
• Assist with customer communications related to routine requests and support activities
• Maintain clear and professional documentation of technical activities
• Escalate issues appropriately while following established support processes
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and customers
• Participate in customer reporting and operational review activities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred
• 1–3 years of experience in IT infrastructure, SAP support, system administration, or related technology roles
• Basic understanding of SAP environments, including SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, or SAP HANA concepts
• Familiarity with operating systems such as Linux (Red Hat/SUSE) and Microsoft Windows
• Basic understanding of databases such as SAP HANA, Oracle, or SQL Server
• Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
• Basic scripting or automation experience using shell scripting, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools is preferred.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to learn new technologies
• Ability to work collaboratively within a global, cross-functional team environment
• Strong communication skills and professional attitude
• Willingness to learn SAP BASIS administration and cloud infrastructure technologies
• Fluency in English
