Division Chief - Pediatric Pulmonology

The Department of Pediatrics at Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution, and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges , located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Division Chief of Pediatric Pulmonology. This is a unique opportunity to build a pediatric pulmonology program at a leading academic medical center. We are seeking an entrepreneurial leader who is excited to establish and grow a comprehensive clinical and academic program in an established academic medical center. The Division Chief will build upon existing strengths and long history of high quality clinical care with the existing mature and steadfast Pediatric Pulmonary team that includes a Nurse Practitioner, 3 respiratory therapists, 2 nurses, CF social worker, and CF dietician. We are seeking a Division Chief who will develop a vision for expanding clinical services, educational programs, and research initiatives, while developing strategic interdisciplinary teams and fostering faculty development. Position Details The successful candidate will: Provide strategic, innovative, and operational leadership with an entrepreneurial mindset suited to program development in an academic setting Build and lead a new Pulmonology Division within the Department of Pediatrics, with responsibility for establishing clinical programs, workflows, and infrastructure Recruit one additional pediatric pulmonologist to support continued growth Be responsible and accountable for clinical and academic performance as the division matures including faculty mentorship Demonstrate a strong record of collaborative leadership and commitment to excellence in clinical care, research, innovation, and academic service Be comfortable with the challenges and opportunities of building programs within an urban and diverse academic environment Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required Eligible to be licensed to practice Medicine in the state of Illinois required Completion of an accredited Pediatric Pulmonology fellowship program Board Certified in Pediatric Pulmonology Hold credentials meriting an Associate Professor or Professor faculty appointment Demonstrate ongoing research achievement, community engagement, and educational excellence The Rush University Children's Hospital (RUCH) is part of the Rush University Medical Center (RUMC) . It is an academic medical center that has 110 pediatric beds. RUMC is a 671-bed hospital serving adults and children in downtown Chicago, Illinois. It includes the 58- adult bed Johnston R. Bowman Health Center, Rush University and Rush Health. Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role, as well as additional compensation such as sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances.
