Diesel Mechanic

Mechanic Position at Nalco WaterNalco Water, an Ecolab Company, is seeking a Mechanic to join the Logistics Maintenance team in Garyville, LA. You'll be responsible for providing maintenance on our fleet crew delivery equipment. As a mechanic, you will safely perform maintenance on all delivery vehicles and perform field repairs as needed. In addition, you will maintain all maintenance records, and assist in any emergency situations as the mechanical knowledge on the team.What's in it For You:Pay: $29 - $31/hr AverageYou will join a growing company offering competitive pay and benefits including Day 1: medical, dental, vision, matching 401K, company paid pension, and more!Access to best in class resources, tools, and technologyOpportunity for a long term, advanced career pathA culture that values safety first, including training and personal protectionWhat You Will Do:Servicing all types of delivery trucks or vehiclesInspect all vehicles once a monthPerform scheduled maintenance on all delivery vehiclesPerform field repairs as neededMaintain Ecolab policy inspection maintenance recordsKeeps current on safety techniques and take advantage of all opportunities to improve driving and safety skillsRecognize and avoid safety hazards in the work environmentAssist in any emergency situation that may need mechanical knowledgeMinimum Qualifications:2 years diesel mechanic experienceMinimum high school graduate or GEDMust have an acceptable motor vehicle record (3 years)All candidates must have the ability to speak, read and write EnglishBasic computer knowledgeImmigration sponsorship is not offered for this roleMust be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.Preferred Qualifications:5 years diesel mechanic experienceWorking knowledge of Davey Tool and JProKnowledge of vehicle electrical, hydraulic, and chassis systemsHave certifications in brake, CVSA, and A/C systemsKnowledge of use of diagnostic software (ADOC, INSITE)Experience working on hydraulic pumps and PTOAwareness of chemical safety and the measures to take in the event of skin contact or spillHave own hand toolsNot Required: Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), issued by the state in which the candidate residesAs a trusted partner, your customers will rely on you for their success.
