Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 200 ranked national law firm seeking a 3rd to 5th year Complex Litigation and Class Actions Associate to join its San Diego California office. This role supports a busy litigation practice focused on defending high exposure consumer class actions, with a steady pipeline of sophisticated matters and meaningful responsibility for associates who want to deepen their motion practice and case management experience. The firm offers a well resourced national platform with a collaborative, partner led approach and strong infrastructure for large scale litigation, including experienced teams supporting discovery, experts, and complex case workflow management. The Opportunity You will work on consumer class action defense matters involving areas such as consumer products, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, technology, and financial services. The work includes drafting and arguing key motions, managing discovery and case strategy, taking and defending depositions, supporting expert development, and contributing to class certification and summary judgment briefing. Ideal Candidate Profile The firm is seeking a 3rd to 5th year Complex Litigation and Class Actions Associate with: 3 to 5 years of consumer class action defense experience, including matters involving false advertising, product defect, breach of warranty, and consumer protection laws Experience working with California Unfair Competition Law Active bar membership in California, New York, or Washington Experience with class certification and or summary judgment briefing Proficiency with e discovery and litigation case management, including coordinating with vendors and internal teams Why This Opportunity Stands Out This is a strong fit for an associate who wants to build a durable class actions skill set on a national platform while remaining hands on in the day to day litigation work.
