Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 200 ranked national law firm seeking a 3rd to 6th year IP Litigation Associate Attorney to join its San Diego California office on an in office basis. This is a 100 percent litigation role focused on sophisticated patent and trade secret disputes for innovative clients across technology, life sciences, and consumer products. The Opportunity You will work on high stakes IP litigation, including drafting pleadings and briefs, managing discovery, coordinating with experts, preparing for depositions and hearings, and contributing to overall case strategy in close coordination with partners and senior associates. Ideal Candidate Profile Prior experience handling intellectual property disputes, including patent litigation and or trade secret litigation An undergraduate degree in a hard science or life science discipline Strong academic credentials and excellent legal writing Admission to the bar in the jurisdiction of practice, and ability to practice in California in a timely manner Outstanding research, analytical, oral, and written communication skills with a proactive approach to case ownership Why This Opportunity Stands Out This role offers hands on experience in complex IP disputes with real responsibility, close supervision and feedback from senior lawyers, and exposure to sophisticated clients.
