Aircraft Operations Coordinator (Helicopter Flight Operations)

Pay Range: $25.00 – $45.00 per hour (based on experience and internal equity) Schedule: Full-time, contract; long-term opportunity Work Type: Onsite Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, Life Insurance, 401k, Continuing and on-demand education Must be willing to work onsite in Chino, CA Sponsorship is NOT AVAILABLE for this role Position Summary We are seeking a Flight Operations Coordinator to support daily helicopter dispatch and flight operations within a large utility aviation organization. This role serves as the communication hub between pilots, dispatch, maintenance, field crews, contractors, and operations to ensure safe, efficient, and timely flight operations. The ideal candidate has experience in aviation dispatch, flight following, flight operations coordination, or commercial aviation operations and possesses an FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate or FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate. Commercial fixed-wing aviation experience is welcomed, while helicopter experience is preferred but not required. Key Responsibilities Perform day-to-day flight dispatch and flight following activities Coordinate helicopter flight schedules and daily mission assignments Monitor weather conditions and support flight release decisions Communicate with pilots using two-way radio communications Track aircraft and fuel truck activity throughout daily operations Coordinate with dispatch, maintenance, field crews, contractors, and operations personnel Process flight requests and support aircraft scheduling using aviation scheduling systems Assist with aviation risk assessments and communicate operational information to pilots Support deconfliction between helicopters, drones (UAS), and fixed-wing aircraft operating within company airspace Respond to changing weather, maintenance issues, emergency events, and operational priorities Support aircraft maintenance scheduling and operational planning Monitor operational performance, vendor activities, and flight metrics Prepare operational reports and maintain accurate flight documentation Support continuous improvement initiatives across Aircraft Operations What You'll Be Working On Flight dispatch and flight following Helicopter operations Flight releases and weather monitoring Aviation radio communications Aircraft scheduling and coordination Utility aviation operations Emergency response support Aviation operational risk assessment Required Skills & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate OR FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate (Required) Experience in aviation dispatch, flight following, or flight operations Experience supporting commercial or helicopter aviation operationsKnowledge of aviation weather reports, NOTAMs, and flight operations Experience communicating with pilots using aviation radio procedures Strong understanding of FAA operational requirements (Part 91, 133, and 135 preferred) Experience using Microsoft Office Suite Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills Ability to make sound operational decisions in a fast-paced environment Ability to work fully onsite Tuesday–Friday with occasional holdover Desired Skills Flight Operations Coordinator or Aircraft Dispatcher experience Utility aviation or emergency response aviation Experience improving manual or paper-based operational processes Experience tracking operational KPIs and aviation metrics #J-18808-Ljbffr Delta Computer Consulting
