Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Personal Injury Attorney to join our litigation team and represent clients injured by negligence, medical malpractice, and other wrongful acts. The ideal candidate will manage a full caseload from intake through trial or settlement, advocate effectively for clients, and collaborate with medical experts, paralegals, and staff to secure optimal outcomes. Strong legal research and writing skills, courtroom experience, and familiarity with research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of personal injury and medical malpractice claims, including client intake, evaluation, and case strategy.
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw and LexisNexis to support motions, briefs, and trial preparation.
• Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, settlement demands, and jury instructions.
• Prepare for and take depositions of parties, witnesses, and expert witnesses; prepare clients and experts for testimony.
• Retain, coordinate, and consult with medical experts and other professionals to develop and prove damages and causation.
• Negotiate settlements with insurers, opposing counsel, and third parties to achieve favorable client outcomes.
• Represent clients in court at hearings, pre-trial conferences, mediations, and trials; develop persuasive oral advocacy.
• Manage case budgets, maintain timely client communication, and work with support staff to meet deadlines and document requirements.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active state bar admission.
• 3+ years of litigation experience handling personal injury cases; direct experience with medical malpractice (Med Mal) strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated trial experience, including jury trials or complex evidentiary hearings.
• Proficiency with legal research tools including Westlaw and LexisNexis; ability to perform advanced legal research and cite authorities.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills; experience drafting pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and demand letters.
• Experience coordinating with medical experts and understanding medical records, causation, and damage principles in medical malpractice cases.
• Excellent client management skills, ethical judgment, and the ability to prioritize a dynamic caseload to meet deadlines.
• Capabilities in negotiation, alternative dispute resolution, and courtroom advocacy; familiarity with local court rules and procedural requirements.
