Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit

Shift: Nights — 3x12-hour

Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:5 Population: Adult patients in a combined ICU/PCU (will work PCU level only)

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years PCU/stepdown experience
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• IV starts and peripheral/PICC/central line familiarity (including management)
• Familiarity with transplant patient care (kidney, liver, pancreas) and renal failure/management
• Familiarity with titration protocols (e.g., insulin drips) and post-procedure recovery care
• Experience with Epic charting system

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care to adult patients in a progressive care unit.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry for dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications and IV therapies as per protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement patient-centered care plans.
• Educate patients and families on management and care for complex medical conditions.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to safety protocols.

Compliance / Notes:

• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only).
• RTO must be provided with submission.
• Strict credentialing timeline, including fingerprinting immediately after booking.
